"Women Safety Wing is committed towards providing a safe environment for Women while coming up with issue specific solutions. The wing has facilities at its structure, that include Bharosa/CDEW Family Counselling Centers, SHE Teams, Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU). These wings are headed by a Deputy Commissioner of Police."

Bharosa Center

"Bharosa" –Support Center for Women & Children is intended to support women affected by violence, in private and public spaces, within the family, community and at the workplace. Women facing physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic abuse, irrespective of age, class, caste, education status, marital status, race and culture will be facilitated with support and redressal. Aggrieved women facing any kind of violence due to attempted sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, trafficking, honour related crimes, acid attacks or witch-hunting who have reached out or been referred to the center will be provided with specialized services.

SHE Team

SHE TEAMS has been introduced in Telangana state with a moto to provide safety and security to women in Telangana and to make Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate a SAFE AND SMART CITY.

  • Places and timings where eve teasing is prominent are identified and plotted
  • These places are under surveillance of these teams
  • Stalkers are identified and brought to the CCS / Police Station
  • Counseling is done along with stalker family members in the Police station
  • His activity sheet is prepared and kept in central data base and his activities are monitored on a daily basis
  • Legal action will be initiated as per provisions of Law
  • Stringent action will be initiated (Nirbhaya Act), if he comes to adverse notice again and again, repeatedly
  • Victims name and identity will be kept confidential
  • Dial 100 will be the help line to lodge all complaints by the victims in this regard
  • SHE TEAMS which are already in the field will swing into action immediately after receiving the call in addition to acting on their own
  • Awareness programmes will be conducted throughout the Malkajgiri Commissionerate to women to come out openly and to inform also to men to know about consequences of teasing or sexual harassment and stringent laws existing to protect women at open places, on transit, at work places
  • Appeal to public transport drivers and conductors to either inform to dial 100 or take vehicle to nearest police station on information from women of teasing

The program of SHE teams was launched in Malkajgiri Commissionerate with the aim of curbing eveteasing in all aspects, in all forms, at all places, providing safety and security to women in the society, facilitating healthy environment for womens mobility thereby building up confidence in women to fulfill the Telangana Government commitment of safe and secure to women.

Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU)

The objectives of the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) is to prevent trafficking of persons in the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate and to identify the prostitution running places and seize the properties which are used for the illegal activities under Immoral Trafficking Prevention (ITP) Act. Its activities include creating awareness on human trafficking for prevention, conducting co-ordination meetings with NGO's for sharing knowledge, & information and maintaining surveillance on traffickers.

The Anti Human Trafficking Module Women Safety Wing works as per comprehensive state policy envisaging provisions for protection, prevention, rescue and rehabilitation of trafficking in person. Women Safety Wing is the nodal agency for monitoring the functioning of AHTUs in all districts of Telangana working with an intention to put an end to human trafficking in the State in tandem with various stakeholders to achieve the goal.

The AHTUs will be integrated task forces to prevent and combat trafficking in persons and will be constituted of a group of trained sensitive officials of the Police and the Women and Child welfare and department of the State, and also reputed local NGOs.

It is done for the purpose of exploitation or the prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labor or services, slavery, involuntary servitude or the removal or sale of organs.
